Chocolate Ale is brewed by The Boulevard Brewing company in Kansas City Missouri. Boulevard Brewing Company was founded in 1989 and is one of the largest breweries in the Midwest.
Christopher Elbow a chocolate hand crafter for well over 10 years joined forces with Boulevard's Brew master Steven Pauwel's to birth the Chocolate ale. The beer itself is described as a Burnt Orange/ Pumpkin color and has more bubbles than most ale style beers(www.Beeradvocate.com).
The aroma is creamy smooth and has a good caramel flavor. There is not as much chocolate as you would think there would be, making it a great balance of chocolate and beer. Being a 9.1% beer the Chocolate Ale is very crisp, warming, and deliciously pleasant on a cold day. Check out the boulevards site.
