Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere Harvest

Sierra Nevada is a well known brewing company around the United States.  Sierra Nevada Brewing Company was founded in 1979 and is located in Chico, California.  Home Brewers, Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi are the masterminds behind the production and foundation of the brewery and have brought Sierra Nevada up as one of the top craft breweries in the United States.  Sierra Nevada Brewing is currently the sixth largest brewing company in the United States and in 2010 produced 786,000 barrels of beer.  The Companies name comes from Ken Grossman's love of hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Sierra Nevada offers a wide variety of craft beers from Seasonal Pilsner's to year round Classics.  I picked Sierra nevada southern hemisphere harvest for two reasons.  One, because my friend Jake turned me on to Southern Hemisphere and two, because it is a a great Indian Pale Ale.  Southern hemisphere harvest has a 6.7% alcohol content and contains fresh picked hops from the southern hemisphere.  The ale contains fresh pacific Hallertau, New Zealand Motueka and New Southern Cross hops that are all imported from New Zealand.
The hops are dried out right after they are picked and then shipped across the world to the brewery to start the brewing process. When poured, hemisphere harvest has a nice, rich, dark, orange color with a very light head.  You inhale the fresh grassy hops, with floral aromas coming from all angles, like you are in a rose garden. Southern Hemisphere is gorgeously balanced with a solid hoppy flavor that hangs around for a while after you are done drinking.  With a medium body and carbonation you get the perfect mix of hops and malt taste through out this IPA craft beer.  Sierra nevada southern hemisphere harvest is available year round and is one of the beers from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company that you need to go out and try.  Especially while hiking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in desperate need for a hydration drink.  Thank you Jake Ripley for informing Beers of the Day about Sierra Nevada's Southern Hemisphere Harvest.
