Avery Maharaja: Boulder, Colorado

The Maharaja imperial india pale ale label Avery Brewing Company is a local brewing company located in Boulder, Colorado and has been producing 20+ beers since 1993.
Avery Brewing has year round beers, seasonal beers, and even beers that have won many competitions.  Today I am going to take a dive into the Maharaja Imperial India Pale Ale.  The word Maharaja is a word that comes from the sanskrit Mahat which means "great" and Rajan which means "King".  This Imperial Monster hop bomb uses Simcoe, Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial Hops and really packs the punch.  The pour is a gorgeous amber color with a nice everlong white head.
The maharaja beer bottle and glass When you pop the top the aroma of mango, orange citrus, and grapefruit holds your nose hostage while the intensity of the hops smack you back and forth in the face.  The taste is ridiculously delicious with pine, herbal hops, and citrus flavors spreading through-out your mouth.  With the over powering of the hops dancing in your mouth and the sweetness of the malt, the 10.3% alcohol is barely noticeable.  Avery Brewing Company worked the malt and the hops perfectly together in a way that makes this Imperial IPA an award winning brew.  The Maharaja is only available from December to March each year and is produced in 22oz bombers, 1/6 BBL and half Kegs.  The Maharaja is a hop attack to worship and is to be treated as a king should.  Thank you Jaime for your suggestion of The Avery Maharaja.
