Adolphus Busch left Germany and settled in the United States in 1857. After traveling for a while around Europe studying all the latest brewing techniques of the time he came back. During the time most people enjoyed beers that were dark beers and very heavy. Not Adolphus, he was infatuated with light Bohemian Lagers. So that is exactly what Adolphus started brewing. The first Anheuser Brewery was opened in St. Louis and is a National Historic Landmark. Internationally Anheuser-Busch has 15 breweries, 14 in China and one in the United Kingdom and brews a wide variety of beers.
Budweiser is made up of 30% rice, barley malt, fresh hops, and is quit easily the highest selling beer in America, especially on the fourth of July. You can find Budweiser in many different bottled and canned forms with the taste of Freedom that everyone enjoys. The pictures to the left are a couple of vintage photos I found that were taken in the late 1800's to early 1900's. We have progressed a lot since then, from horses and buggies to 18 wheeler trucks. Budweiser has so much history and meaning to it no wonder it is The American Lager. So get out there and grab yourself some Independence in a bottle! Happy Freedom day everybody!
